Last night, while I was walking home, I saw… it. I can’t get the picture of that stupid mask out of my head… that crooked smile... I couldn't even tell what it was, but by its laugh, I assume it's a girl. As I was walking home from work, I got the feeling I was being watched. I decided to ignore it, because I thought it was just another person walking by.
Later on, I heard rustling noises and a branch snapping. Okay, now I hope my mind is playing a trick on me. I sat down on a park bench, and I closed my eyes for a minute, because working 12 hours can wipe you out. I must have fallen asleep, because when I woke, it was 3 AM, and the last time I'd checked my phone, it was 1:30.
I stood up to walk the rest of the way home, but it came out of a bush and tackled me to the ground. The next thing I knew, it was trying to choke me! I tried my best to push it off, but it was too strong. Eventually, I slid my leg under it and kicked it off.
I ran and I ran. It was too fast; I just could not get away. Luckily, I got to my house in time. I tried to open my door, but it was locked, and I had dropped my keys while running... I had to think quick before it came, so I ran to a window, opened it, and tossed myself in, not caring that I broke a vase and cut my hand. I ran up the stairs and hid in my room, under my bed.
I fell asleep once again, and I woke up to it, staring intently at me. I screamed, trying to squirm out from under my bed, but it had a firm grip on my leg. It climbed on top of me, pinning my arms above my head with one hand. With the other hand, it stabbed me in my stomach. I screamed and broke free, knocking down whatever was in my path. I soon made it downstairs, grabbing my gun and waiting.
As soon as it ran for me, I hit its head with the butt of my gun and apparently knocked it out cold. I got a good look at who attacked me: it had shaggy dark brown hair, a black sweat shirt, jeans, and sneakers, but the worst part was the mask. It was white with black eyes and a malevolent grin. Just as I was about to see who it really was, it jumped up, grabbed my wrist, and said, “DO NOT TOUCH THE MASK!” I could tell that it was a girl by then.
She calmed down, then began cackling, and said, “SMILE, my dear!" I backed away, and she advanced. When she was nearly a foot away, she lunged at me, tearing my arm with her blade.
I screamed once again and ran to my friend's house. I banged on the door, screaming and yelling until someone came, but just when my friend's wife came to the door, I passed out due to blood loss.
The next day I returned home after resting, and when I opened the door I was met with a shocking discovery. On the walls the word "SMILEY" was written in blood. There she stood, giggling to herself, finishing the Y and running to the door.
I tried to grab her but she pushed me into the house, making me fall to my knees. I ran to get my gun and tried to shoot her, but I missed, and by the time I got to the park she was long gone... at least, I hope so.
